Objectives

The project "Tolerance is our future" was to be a meeting of young people from 3 countries: Poland, the Czech Republic and Malta. Unfortunately, due to the geopolitical situation, a group of young people from Malta did not come to the meeting. They feared the war that is going on in Ukraine. Three groups, young people from Malta, the Czech Republic and Poland, were to meet in Gołdap to implement the project. Ten young people from each country were to participate in it. Young people with fewer opportunities were to be supported by two leaders from each partner country. The main theme of the project was "Tolerance is our future". Promoting tolerance, equality and empathy towards others. In addition, as part of the exchange, the youth was to learn about the culture of the partner country, as well as prepared a program presenting the culture of their own nation: traditions, customs and cuisine. Through participation in integration games, sports activities, workshops and debates, young people were to learn openness, cooperation and overcoming language barriers. Joint activities in various forms of spending free time were to enable the integration of young people from various European environments, including disadvantaged ones, and to make us realize that national and cultural borders and diversity do not have to divide us, that we have a lot in common. The youth was to carry out several joint activities including the local community. Young people were to meet people with disabilities, talk about their countries, traditions, visit, have fun, and thus broaden their knowledge about the world, get to know each other's culture, and exchange knowledge about the diversity of cultures and nations of their regions. Thanks to the project, young people within the framework of non-formal education were to achieve the following goals: - developing skills useful in everyday life (courage, overcoming shyness), - implementation of responsibility for performing assigned tasks, performing roles (e.g. host, person responsible for caring for a colleague), working day planning, - shaping a sense of equality, equal opportunities for young people from small towns and villages, - overcoming fears such as shyness, lack of self-confidence, - opening up to new cultures, Moreover, the youth would like the project implementation to result in: - participants getting to know their cultural traditions, - strengthening attitudes of openness and communication.
