Objectives

The idea for our "Green Goes Global" project was born during our previous project "Peace by Piece"(PBP; 2018). The PBP project revolved around one specific topic of global education - peace andtolerance. Together with one of the partner organizations from our "Peace by Piece" project -"Generation of changes" from Ukraine - we reached a conclusion that nowadays in countries ofEastern and Central Europe another global education topic is greatly overlooked - the topic of givingthe youth workers competences to educate young people in the area of "green" values (environmentprotection, zero waste lifestyle, climate change, etc.). We also noticed that both our organizationswould like to equip the youth workers we engage with these competences, since there is a growingdemand for "green" topics among youth and the youth workers in our organizations and they are notyet competent enough to address these topics in methodologically attractive way. On this basis, we formulated five main objectives of "Green Goes Global" project:1. EQUIPPING THE YOUTH WORKERS WITH KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS CONCERNINGSPECIFIC "GREEN" TOPICSThe first objective of our project will be equipping the youth workers with knowledge and skillsconcerning specific "green" topics. By "green" topics, we mean specifically the knowledge about:a) climate change phenomenon,b) permaculture,c) zero-waste lifestyled) protection of natural commons. 2. INCREASING THE ABILITY OF YOUTH WORKERS TO ORGANIZE ACTIVITIES ANDCAMPAIGNS FOR YOUTH REGARDING THE "GREEN" TOPICSThe second objective of our GGG project is increasing the ability of youth workers (including thedisabled youth workers) to organize activities and campaigns for young people on the "green" topicsmentioned above. Specifcally, by "increasing their ability" we mean equipping them with attractivemethodologies of transferring the knowledge, values and skills. During our training, on the basis ofour shared knowledge, we will reflect on what are the best methodologies of doing that. What ismore, besides methodologies of conducting the activities, we will prepare the youth workers toconduct campaigns on the Internet and off-line which will aim at promoting the ecological awareness.3. INCREASING THE COLLABORATION BETWEEN ORGANIZATIONS IN CENTRAL ANDEASTERN EUROPE INTERESTED IN GLOBAL EDUCATION AND "GREEN" TOPICSMost of our participating organisations are quite young and they would like to network a lot with otherorganizations from abroad in order to exchange practices and plan new projects. Involving so youngorganizations in a project together will give them a chance to increase their potential for futurecollaboration in the area of "green" topics. 76EN4. INCREASING THE MOTIVATION OF YOUTH WORKERS TO WORK ON "GREEN TOPICS",ESPECIALLY THE MOTIVATION OF DISABLED YOUTH WORKERSIt is not always easy to tackle complicated and psychologically burdening "green" topics. By realizingour GGG project, we want to encourage youth workers to engage in these topics in their work asoften as possible. Therefore, the training will include coaching and self-development elements foryouth workers. It is worth emphasising that 28% (5 out of 18) of youth workers taking part in ourproject will be disabled and that it is especially crucial. The disabled youth workers want to prove thatthey can address all the important topics. They are usually used only to train the young people on thedisabled rights. They think it is unfair - they want to be included in all the important for the worldtopics, not only the topics revolving around their disability. This is why they are very motivated to takepart in the GGG project.5. RAISING AWARENESS OF YOUTH WORKERS REGARDING UNDERSTANDING OF OTHERCULTURESOur project will have many intercultural elements which will aim at enhancing intercultural dialogueand raising the level of tolerance in the participants. The attitude towards "green" topics vary fromculture to culture and we will analyze these differences in order to discuss how and what kind ofcampaigns and "green" activities could work in one culture and in anther setting/culture, not necessarily.
