Objectives

INTERFILMLAB 3.0. is a youth laboratory of innovation in the field of film distribution on European markets using 3rd generation channels, such as VoD platforms (Video on Demand). The INTERFILMLAB 3.0 project concept was created as a result of the discussion of young people binding their future with the film industry. The group unites problems with the international promotion and distribution of films (in the regular cinema distribution, European markets are dominated by large Hollywood studios and the export of audiovisual production is a major challenge for national cinematography) and the presentation of cultural products in the transnational European circulation. The knowledge of young filmmakers on this subject is small, because film colleges have great difficulty offering such courses and subjects. Thereby, this type of educational task must be completed by a different structure, for example meetings of young people from different European countries, whose aim will be searching for modern solutions, which are a coherent whole and allowing them to acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The traditional career path of beginning filmmakers assumes building a personal brand and recognition with the help of the festival circuit, which often remains a closed or extremely inaccessible for some social and ethnic groups. The necessity to making personal relationships during the largest European film events and intensive international promotion of own achievements causes situation where many artists due to their origin and economic limitations have little chance of appearing in the international film industry. These facts determined focusing of the project on the search for modern and pioneering ways of distributing audiovisual works via the Internet and analysis of cinema opportunities in the context of the intensive development of this form of film production. The VoD (video on demand) market, especially after significant limitation of pirate distribution, implementation of high technological standards and the progressive change of audience's habits, has become a development sector and it belongs to the future of the audiovisual sector in the 21st century - as the "third generation" in the field of distribution methods for audiovisual works. In addition, Internet distribution is more often chosen by young generations of recipients, naturally more efficiently using the new technologies.
