Objectives

What is important, last few years we have faced an enormous switch in social activity of young people, which moved to the online sphere. According to Ofcom, teenagers spend online on average 27 hours per week. They live with their smartphones and moved their personal and social lives to social media platforms (according to the Eurostat 9 out of 10 young Europeans use internet on their mobile devices). NGOs do not always follow these trends, what is especially vivid when we speak about promotion of our local and national activities. Hence together with our partners and their staff we have come up with an idea of a complex project, providing our youth workers with skills, knowledge and practical tools to efficiently communicate online, understand threats and legal aspects of presence of organisations in online sphere, understand the new threats young people face online as well as to learn tools of dealing with those threats. In our opinion it is the only way to fill in the “technology gap” between youth organisations and youth workers, and their target groups The main aim of the project is to provide youth workers and organisations with knowledge, skills and materials in order to improve quality of their work, upgrade online visibility, develop their online communication and make them more active online to reach their target groups better. Objectives of the project: - to provide knowledge, practices to youth workers how to analyse and strategically create communication of organisations on the Internet - to educate and provide direct examples to youth workers about online threats that effect partner organisations and their target groups (cyber safety) - to enhance participants ICT skills and competences and raise awareness about importance of new media use - to improve youth workers knowledge and skills in using digital tools, programmes and channels - to foster international cooperation of partner organisations and to develop follow-up activities on local level
