Objectives

The goal of the Warsaw Metropolitan Police HQ was to develop a set of good practices (with the aim of improving internal procedures) on the basis of the countries to which the mobilities took place in the field of controlling crowd reactions during demonstrations, public gatherings and mass events. On the basis of the collection of developed good practices from the past mobilities, create a new professional development program for officers of the Warsaw Metropolitan Police. It's implementation will have a real and direct impact on improving the safety of citizens.

Background

The Chief of Warsaw Metropolitan Police places special emphasis on providing opportunities for his staff and employees to participate in international conferences and training courses. They provide opportunities for internships and work placements with budget resources and EU funds. Warsaw Metropolitan Police while applying for the project, wanted, among other things, to learn how law enforcement services function in psychological terms during gatherings of people (demonstrations, soccer matches, etc...) and also to learn how the local Police implement the 3D strategy (dialogue, escalation, intervention) during an intervention with a person under the influence of strong emotions.
