Background

Internet and new ICT are becoming an everyday reality. Increasingly, adults and especially seniors face the problem of coping with a new challenge, which may be the cause of digital exclusion. At the same time, there are many online services that can improve the quality of life of seniors in its various areas. Therefore, one of the important tasks planned by the ACTIVE XXI Foundation for the coming years is to improve the digital skills of adults, in particular seniors and people with disabilities, in order to improve the quality and safety of everyday life. In the EU countries, a large number of institutions organize ITC courses for adults, but the training programs are not adapted to the needs of older people. Until recently, office programs were the dominant training areas. Therefore, the goal of our project was to develop a new approach to improving digital competences in adults - digital migrants, in particular seniors, and to develop a methodology for developing Internet skills using smartphones and applications that affect the quality and safety of life.
