The project “adult Education Through Sport” has been prepared based on the expertise in the fields of youth work and education through sport of the partner organizations. Through the methodology that was used and outputs that were produced the project pursued stronger participation of adults in civic life and in democratic life, as well as increased participation at local and European level, also social inclusion, taking into account the underlying European values. All of those were to be achieved by providing adult educators with interesting and effective tools in their work. For the consortium, the project was the first step into Erasmus+ Adult Education. We have decided to use our experience in working with youngsters to the next level and translate it into adult education, experimenting with the newest technology and our experience. The project has responded to the needs of the partner's organisations as well as of the non-formal sector of adult education in general for new tools that are using the newest technology tool and introduce new methods of learning. Partners undertook a careful study about what has been done previously in terms of promotion and application of ETS approach around Europe. In particular, the achievements of big sport associations, such as ISCA (Denmark) or ENGSO Youth have been revised with attention in order to identify how the current proposal could build on the actions that have been already undertaken in this field, but the methods have not been promoted among adult educators. The aETS project was complementary to other actions already implemented such as Training of trainers in Education through sport (TOT on ETS), held by ISCA Denmark (2012 – 2103). This long term training course has already presented the ETS methodology to some experienced non-formal education practitioners orienting them to further actions using sport in their daily youth work activities. That event established the ETS practitioners Community Network and has created the Move and Learn Manuel as output available for consultation via the following link: www.moveandlearn.org. However, the ETS methodology remained still not well-known mostly witing youth NGOs, sport clubs organizations but not in adult education. For this reason, some ex-participants of TOT have united their efforts for working on the ETS topic, highly innovative but under-explored in Europe. The ETS methodology was, until now, used in youth work. This project seeks to spread it into the adult education sector.
