The "Smart development" project responds to the educational needs defined by the leaders of the 6 participating NGOs: Kolping Foundation in Poland (Poland), Kolpingovo dielo na Slovensku (Slovakia), Kolping International (Germany), Organizatia Centrala a Familiililor Kolping din Romania, (Romania), Lietuvos Kolpingo draugija (Lithuania), Kolping Drustvo Srbije (Serbia). At a time of dynamic climate change, it is necessary to define a new approach to environmental education, by developing educational methods and tools that are universal and adapted to the educational capabilities of adult learners representing different countries, cultures and environments. Improving the competence of educators ensures an increase in the quality of educational services offered by the oreganizations participating in the project, and thus increases the chance for an increase in public awareness and a change in attitudes to a more ecological one among adults across Europe.
