Project summary

The project is focused on assisting our students to become open minded, unprejudiced and responsible European citizens. The main objective of this project is to make the students aware of their own cultural heritage as well as the cultural heritage of other European nations, in order to build bridges among different cultures. The students will not only be asked to reflect upon their national identities but will get to know the personal realities of students of other European countries in different areas such as science, art, literature, music and architecture. It will be mainly achieved through three mobilities. This intercultural reflection is supposed to broaden their horizons and help them develop an open minded attitude towards other nations and the UE membership. We also want our students to develop and improve their digital and language skills as well as to understand the advantages of working in a team.We are going to involve our students into making presentations on our cultural heritage (art, literature, music, dance, science, festivals and celebrations, legeds, famous people, famous places and their landmarks ect). There's a number of tools and activities we are planning to use while working on the presentations to mention such digital tools as animoto.com, padlet.com, issuu.com or stripgenerator.com. It would create a great opportunity for our students to develop their IT skills. We are also going to involve them into activities focused on such topics as European values, tolerance and cultural diversity in order to make them aware of such negative issues as xenophobia, extreme nationalism, hate speech ect. The students and teachers will present and publish their work on TwinSpace and project webpage. The final result will be an ebook created by using issuu.com and containing the most interesting and valuable information about each country's cultural heritage. By involving our students into the project we would like to teach them that it is great to be a member of European community and to be an open, friendly and educated European citizen. We also hope that taking part in such a project will help our students develop their knowledge, interests, passions and talents.

Final report summary

The project was focused on assisting our students to become open minded, unprejudiced and responsible European citizens. The main objective of this project was to make the students aware of their own cultural heritage as well as the cultural heritage of other European nations, in order to build bridges among different cultures. The students were not only asked to reflect upon their national identities but got to know the personal realities of students of other European countries in different areas such as science, art, literature, music and architecture. It was achieved through one of the planned mobilities as well as through other activities which took place in partner schools and online. This intercultural reflection was supposed to broaden students' horizons and help them develop tolerant and open minded attitude towards other nations and the UE membership. We also wanted our students to develop key competences such as critical thinking, oral and written communication and collaboration to make them understand the value of creative cooperation and advantages of working in a team. Another important goal was to apply a broad approach to language education, improve language skills and make students understand the importance of language competences in their everyday life. Participation in mobility in Italy as well as communication with peers from partner schools via social media, provided our students with an opportunity for using English in real life situations. We also put great importance on providing our students with an opportunity to improve their digital skills. We involved them into making presentations on our cultural heritage (art, literature, music, dance, science, festivals and celebrations, legends, famous people, famous places and their landmarks etc.) There's a number of tools and activities students used while working on the presentations to mention such digital tools as Padlet.com, Scratch.mit.edu, Bookcreator.com, Kahoot.com, PowerPoint, Prezi.com, Filmora.go.com, YouTube.com. This experience helped them gain new IT skills as well as improve and master computer skills they had acquired before. Participation in activities organized in partner schools and during mobility in Italy also provided our students with the opportunity to gain cultural competence, increase cultural self-awareness and develop social skills. We involved them into activities focused on such topics as European values, tolerance and cultural diversity in order to make them aware of such negative issues as xenophobia, extreme nationalism, hate speech etc. The students and teachers presented and published their work on Twin Space on eTwinning and on the project webpage. The final result is an e-book created using an effective digital publishing tool Bookcreator.com which contains the most interesting and valuable educational materials created within the project such as films, screenplays, lesson ideas and photo relations from mobility and other important project activities. By involving our students into the project we aimed at making them aware that it is valuable and important to be a member of European community and to be an open-minded, friendly and educated European citizen. We also made sure that taking part in this particular Erasmus+ project would help our students develop their interests, passions and talents.
