Project summary

Project "School of the future" is implemented by the Polish school. The John Paul II Complex School in Grodzisko Dolne (coordinating the project) with the Spanish school CEIP GÓMEZ MORENO. Both establishments are looking for new solutions in working with children, so cooperation between schools has been based on innovative teaching methods. Taking into account the school's needs, the main objective of the project is to raise the knowledge, skills and educational and social competences of students aged 11-14 and teachers by introducing innovative teaching methods during the project period. Among the specific objectives, the most important are the development and implementation of innovative methods based on robotics and the program of "learning schools" that ensure the effectiveness of learning for all students and prevent social exclusion. The mobility will be attended by groups of 10 students aged from 11 to 14 years interested in participating in the project. They are supposed to motivate their participation, express interest in the cultural heritage of partner countries, have the right attitude towards schooling. The award criterion will apply to pupils with various social difficulties. Three teachers will be leaving with students. From the Polish side it will be a teacher of robotics, because this is the field where we want to make changes at school and an English teacher, because the school has very poor results from that language, and this project will give these teachers new tools. From the Spanish side, it will be 3 willing teachers working with innovative methods at school, who want to develop with a particular focus on robotics. Activities include learning about innovative methods and implementing them in their schools. In Spain, the most important activities include the participation of students in interactive groups, tertulias and project classes on the culture of countries, and work on a conference on robotics for the local community with lectures, demonstrations and workshops. The most important activities on the Polish side will include workshops on robotics and participation in the tournament of construction and programming of mobile robots, in which participants of the mobility will take part. The project will use innovative methods, especially the method based on robotics, interactive groups, tertulias and project method. The methodology includes active participation, learning from good practices, self-presentation and presentation, creative action, self-reflection, and observation. The results that we want to achieve are mainly the implementation of innovative methods in schools, and the increase of key competences. Dissemination will take place at the regional, national and international levels and will be aimed particularly at teachers interested in teaching innovations, students, parents and the local community. The innovative methods implemented in schools will be long-term and the cooperation will be continued.

Final report summary

Project "School of the future" was implemented by the Polish school Zespół Szkół im. Jana Pawła II in Grodzisko Dolne (coordinating the project) with the Spanish school CEIP GÓMEZ MORENO. Both institutions were looking for new solutions in working with children, which is why the cooperation between the schools was based on innovative teaching methods. Taking into account the needs of the school, the main objective of the project was to improve the knowledge, skills and educational and social competences of students aged 11-14 and teachers by introducing innovative teaching methods during the project period. Among the specific objectives, the most important was the development and implementation of innovative methods based on robotics and the program of "learning schools" ensuring the effectiveness of learning for all students and preventing social exclusion. Two Polish groups of 10 students and one Spanish group of 16 students aged 11-14 participated in the mobilities, who applied to participate in the project, motivated their participation, expressed interest in the cultural heritage of the partner countries and had the right attitude towards compulsory schooling . The bonus criterion concerned students with various social difficulties. 3 teachers travelled with the Polish group. It was a robotics teacher, because that's the area we want to bring about change in the school, and English teachers, because the school has very poor results in this language, and this project will give these teachers new tools. From the Spanish side, it was 2 willing teachers working with innovative methods at school, wanting to develop with particular emphasis on robotics. Activities included learning about innovative methods and implementing them in their schools. In Spain, the most important activities include the participation of students in interactive groups, tertulias and project classes on the culture of the countries, and work on a robotics conference for the local community with lectures, demonstrations and workshops. The most important activities on the Polish side included robotics workshops and participation in an internal competition regarding the construction and programming of mobile robots, in which mobility participants took part. During the students' stay in Poland, we also conducted interactive workshops and tertulias, which we learned in Spain. Innovative methods were used in the project, especially the robotics-based method, interactive groups, tertulias and the project method. The methodology included active participation, learning from good practices, self-presentation and presentation, creative action, self-reflection, observation. The results we have achieved are, above all, the implementation of innovative methods in schools and the increase in key competences. The dissemination took place at the regional, national and international level and was aimed especially at teachers interested in didactic innovations, students, parents and the local community. The innovative methods implemented in schools have a long-term application.
