Objectives

It was intended to meet the needs in terms of recycling teachers' linguistic/communicative skills, with English as the target language; the needs in terms of digital skills; the needs in terms of acquiring new teaching methods or tools that could be associated to digital skills, as well as promoting/expanding the Group's international dimension. Following the identified needs, which were the central aims, we had also the need to rethink the teachers' work method and the way in which students' learning is being set, involving a series of circumstances that were outlined during the elaboration of the project and that were, in the course of it, boosted by the pandemic stage we are experiencing. So the appreciation and motivation of the teaching class towards all the changes that have arisen in the education system, as well as the increment of new digital and international connections, have become the central premises of the project.

Background

The main objectives of the application were to create an European development plan that would contribute to an increase in the motivation of the teachers of the Group regarding their careers, with a view to the possibility of involvement in European projects by expanding the network of contacts, which would dignify the teaching career and equip teachers with new digital tools and teaching methods. Having identified these three areas as priority themes to be worked on at the level of the Group, it was necessary to consider how to fill the gaps and start a process of modernization/updating of knowledge that would be equally stimulating and could potentiate new challenges. So it was considered in what ways this project could be operationalized in a way that it would meet the diagnosed needs and an adjustable work plan was drawn up consisting of training sessions at the eTwinning level, a training course upon digital skills and two Jobshadowing activities by a group of selected teachers who were committed and very much involved in the mission of disseminating their learning to other colleagues.
