Objectives

With this project it was intended, first of all: - support the development of innovative pedagogies that also include pupils with special educational needs and pupils taking additional measures. This work will also have to be framed in a school management adjusted to the search for pedagogical and administrative changes and others. You are also looking indirectly to: - improve the quality of the European dimension of teacher and non-teaching staff training; -encourage the learning of modern foreign languages; - contribute to increasing the volume of mobility of students and teaching staff in the different countries; - increase the volume of partnerships between schools in different Member States. The aim of this project was to respond to the specific training needs of the Group's human resources to reorient educational practices in the classroom and administrative contexts that are regularly used with the aim of helping students learn better. This intention also reflects the perspective of a school that is constantly questioning its practices and that seeks to implement new strategies, having as a reference international model of success. The objectives will essentially be those that, within the scope of its autonomy, it will be able to implement, namely: - promote the improvement of the quality of teaching and learning. - innovate pedagogical, organizational and management practices. - improve students' academic results and fight school failure. - promoting the professional development of teaching staff. - ensure diversified training for teaching staff. - improve the quality of services provided (administrative and pedagogical). - promote the acquisition of skills, competences and knowledge that favor the construction of the Group's autonomy, namely in the implementation of the Curricular Autonomy and Flexibility Project.

Background

The Paredes de Coura School Group has been part of the Ministry of Education's pilot project "Curricular Autonomy and Flexibility" since September 2017. the need to change pedagogical practices as it is recognized that more traditional pedagogies are not encouraging students to learn. Based on this framework, the project "A step to success!" its main objective was to promote the implementation of innovative pedagogical practices that include curricular articulation, using interdisciplinary work and including, in a different way, students with learning difficulties and special educational needs. This implementation will require appropriate decisions to make the curriculum flexible, horizontally and/or vertically, based on planning decisions for everyday school life that result from school management that is also differentiating and innovative. Thus, this project intended (and managed) that approximately 20% of the teachers of the Group undergo training in CLIL, Special Education, School Management and Schools of the Future, covering the teachers involved in the Curricular Autonomy and Flexibility Project, members of the Pedagogical Council, the General, the Direction and other professors that in the short term will integrate the project of Autonomy and Curricular Flexibility of the Group.
