Background

The “Missão Educar” Consortium brings together the Public school education network of Torres Vedras – São Gonçalo School Cluster (AESG), Henriques Nogueira School Cluster (AEHN), Madeira Torres School Cluster (AEMT), Padre Vítor Melícias School Cluster (AEPVM) and the Municipality of Torres Vedras (MTV). This educational network works actively with the mission of changing and improving the Municipality's educational policies, practices and structures, in a collaborative way and within the principles of complementarity, sharing and creation of synergies. The starting point is two major challenges - student involvement and school success. Students' lack of interest in their academic success is increasingly evident and this trend can lead to the lack of acquisition of transversal skills and basic content, fundamental for the success of learning in the following educational cycles. On the other hand, schools are now being called upon to transform themselves into the schools of the 21st century and to create a vision and critical reflection that allows them to respond to the needs and trends of society and the labor market in what are the ideal profiles of citizens. and professionals.
