Teaching and learning of foreign languagesOvercoming skills mismatches (basic/transversal)Pedagogy and didactics

Objectives

The objectives were aimed at meeting some of the needs of the School. The mobilities were focused on improving the dynamics of intervention with new technologies or new approaches, with the possibility of covering various educational levels and curricular areas with a predominance of those related to foreign languages. The Grouping has the notion of the importance of the European dimension, as the knowledge acquired in the training courses is being integrated in the curriculum in a transversal way. The contacts established with other institutions, from other countries, brought benefits for future actions. They thus sought to increase the quality, diversification and consolidation of their educational work. Mobilities were stimulated and encouraged to be more focused on Linguistic Competence, Professional Development, Methodologies, New Technologies and the European Dimension. However, due to the pandemic, the mobilities were difficult to carry out and the project was readjusted several times with the teachers on mobility. For this reason, the School Grouping felt it was important that the mobilities were effectively carried out, carrying out 3 Blended Mobilities and adjusting the other mobilities.

Background

The AEPA aimed to increase the focus on internationalisation and to encourage the participation of selected teachers in improvement processes and educational innovation, as well as to provide new experiences to students; there was a focus on cooperative and articulation practices, stimulating research projects, pedagogical and organisational development. Mobility could represent the possibility for teachers to acquire specialised knowledge or expertise from their experiences abroad, as well as practical skills relevant for the performance of their duties and for their professional development. In addition to these reasons, it also represented the possibility of further training, in the Foreign Language in an immersive context, of being able to gain experience in a cultural exchange with the host community and of acquiring new knowledge, based on area-specific teaching.
