We have long participated in Erasmus projects, as promoters and partners. We are aware of the importance of internationalisation and have developed approaches to incorporate international activities in AEA to reinforce the quality of training for all (most students come from a low socio-cultural and economic background) and open horizons that allow our students and teachers a sustained evolution in a global context. Our objectives focus essentially on the vocational training of young people to promote employability in a global context; the integration of pedagogical practices in vocational education that are closer and more appropriate to a wider labour market; the development of linguistic, personal and relational skills; European recognition of the quality of the vocational training that AEA offers; and the expansion of the network of partnerships in a sustainable way in the context of vocational training. To set up the partnerships, we used the partners we already had in other applications and consulted other schools, in order to find reliable partners who understand our way of working and are able to find the best solutions to the problems.
The project started in 2019/2020 and contemplated 48 internships to be spread over two years and with two groups of participants: students and teachers. The arrangements were made, and we had, in November 2019, a list of 24 approved students for the cities of Cork, Malaga and Rimini. However, the student mobility was cancelled upon departure due to exceptional circumstances created by the pandemic, and we were only able to restart the project from July 2021. However, there was no change of partners. In November 2021, a 30-day mobility was carried out that allowed 16 internships for students and 6 for teachers in the cities of Cork, Malaga, and Rimini. In May 2022, a second 60-day mobility started with 15 students and 14 teachers in the Calabria region in southern Italy. This makes a total of 31 students. The application envisaged 48 mobilities. If the mobility of 24 students in 2019 had been carried out, the project results would have exceeded 100% in all the planned targets. Regarding teachers, the twenty teachers who participated fully meet the target of the application (100%). The target of 10 pupils with fewer opportunities was also achieved (100%)
