Objectives

The project “EPHTL – Towards to the future!” presented the following specific objectives: to complement training, to acquire new technical skills in their training areas, strengthen personal and professional enrichment, facilitating insertion in the national and European labour market, developing their capacity to adapt to new situations, promoting proactivity and youth entrepreneurship, through this experience, o increasingly enhance the use and dissemination of Information and Communication Technologies, both in students and staff. To disseminate EPHTL and Portuguese culture through the sharing of experiences was, is and will always be a fundamental premise, and one of the motivations in the implementation of the project. With the implementation of this project we aimed to bring about change. Change in the participants, in the organisations and in the school. These changes are to be found in personal development, both in the promotion of greater autonomy with openness and greater knowledge of the European Area or in the entrepreneurial and innovative spirit. In terms of professional development, this project led to the learning and development of new working practices and tools.

Background

Projects are an integral part of the school, both in their promotion, in the educational project, and through the permanent exhibition in the school of the work and photographic records of the experiences of all those who have already had the opportunity of benefiting from Erasmus mobility. Thus, EPHTL, when apply for the project “EPHTL – Towards to the future!”, believed that it would be developing the school's human potential, as well as becoming a reference school in the areas of hospitality and events. EPHTL also believes that only way to train qualified workers and provide them with both technical and personal skills is to be close to the labour market, both at a national and international level, thus increasing the quality of the labour market. Therefore, this application aimed not only to promote greater skills in its staff, as well as giving students the opportunity the contact with an increasingly global world, because if it wasn’t for this project, our students would hardly have the opportunity to travel, due to the reduced resources of most of the school community.
