Objectives

With this project we want to contribute to improve our services. To be able to do this, it is necessary to provide our employees learning opportunities so that they can reinvent them selfs and keep up with technological developments and new trends that can be used in the educational area. So, this project is based on the need of new skills for the future (as the name of the project indicates), not only technical skills, but also pedagogical and interpersonal skills, making learning richer and more motivating, improving the participation of adult population in lifelong learning activities. ATEP wants to encourage its employees to promote their own lifelong learning, discovering new ways of working with adults. This project has as main objective the innovation of Adult Education through: - updating technical knowledge and tools/technologies/methodologies for working with adults - knowledge about the work carried out in other countries in the field of adult education - improvement of transversal, interpersonal and language skills - improving the ability to integrate minorities into society

Background

The continuous training of Adult Education teams is essential to deal with the diversity of adults and educational contexts. Thus, the ability to communicate, empathy, flexibility and proactivity are some of the transversal skills that should exist in teams to motivate and involve adults in lifelong learning. As such, it is necessary to have contact with new approaches and pedagogical methods, valuing the path of adults and learning in informal and non-formal contexts, using new technologies as a way of approaching adults, who show interest in these areas. It is also necessary to prepare teams to work with greater cultural diversity, as a result of migratory movements. We intend to provide experiences that allow: - To give credibility to Adult Education and Lifelong Learning, through the sharing of experiences and good practices with other institutions; - Better prepare teams for the diversity of adult education, through training and contact with institutions integrated in other cultural realities; - Introduce more innovative pedagogical methods, as a way of motivating the adult population and moving away from traditional school.
