Objectives

The two major objectives of this project were: - TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION In the case of students, with the opportunities that were created, selecting students either by their academic background, or by their attitude throughout the course (factor H - human), certainly brought greater quality to vocational education, namely, in the way students view school, which has been happening since the introduction of the VET Mobility Charter. For teachers, having the opportunity to acquire know how abroad was a huge asset, allowing them to put into practice new teaching and learning techniques. - MOTIVATING STUDENTS, REDUCING DROP-OUT RATES Professional courses have one of the highest drop-out rates and the AEEN is no exception. With the support of the Erasmus+ programme, we intended to continue to reduce, year after year, the dropout rate of students from the EYES' vocational courses. It was and continues to be very important to have motivated students, once again, the opportunity that this programme offers makes a difference.

Background

The Emídio Navarro School Grouping (AEEN) has in vocational education one of its great bets. It is true that vocational education in Portugal is still seen by many as a "second option" education, but it is this mentality that we intend to change. With this project we wanted to improve the quality of vocational education, as well as motivate students, with a view to reducing the drop-out rate, which in this type of education is higher when compared to their colleagues in regular secondary education. We hope to have results year after year. However, we know that it is not possible to reduce the dropout rate to 0%, which is the goal of any institution, in such a short time, but we intend to continue the downward path of this great problem, which affects education and seriously harms the future of our young people. The teachers also had the opportunity, through this project, to acquire knowledge in partner entities (schools) across borders, acquiring knowledge, which was subsequently disseminated in Portugal.
