Objectives

The Hands4you project borns from the motto that accompanies SOPRO, for more than 20 years, "Small Gestures that change the World", because we believe that a small gesture can make great changes and that every gesture undertaken in this project will be special. The project is aimed for young people with fewer opportunities, between 14 and 17 years, to be held in Barcelos and Braga (Portugal) from December 03 to 13, 2019, involving 35 participants and 14 leaders from Portugal, Spain, Italy , UK and Croatian. Promoting human rights education, with a focus on cultural diversity and active citizenship, through the creation and development of volunteer activities by the young participants is our great challenge in this project. The Project also has the following objectives: • Provide the building and awareness of personal and social identity through attractive tools such as volunteering; • To promote the capacity of each one to be involved in the transformation of everything that can contribute to the construction of a better social life, through the volunteer dynamics proposed to the participants during the exchange; • Promote creativity and entrepreneurship: the development of volunteer activities, creative skills and entrepreneurial spirit; • Encourage young people and provide them with the necessary resources to become active citizens, actors of solidarity and positive change inspired by EU values and a European identity; • Encouraging the participation of young people in democratic life in Europe; • Promote equal participation of young women and men; • Strengthen the skills of young people with regard to citizenship and the sense of belonging to society and the European Union; • Support personal development and growth towards autonomy, strengthen their resilience and provide them with the life skills needed to cope with a changing world; • Improve decisions regarding their impact on young people in all sectors, including employment, education, health and social inclusion; • foster a sense of belonging to the European project and build bridges between the European Union and young people to regain confidence and increase participation; • Empower young people to achieve equitable access to youth organizations and European youth programs, building a society based on European values and identity; • Enhance the skills of participants in foreign languages and promote the broad linguistic diversity of the EU and sensitivity to different cultures. In order to implement our challenge, we will use as a tool intercultural challenges, group dynamics, moments of reflection, sharing of experiences and good practices among participants, as well as the sharing of traditional games and involvement in activities in their communities. The various dynamics and activities appeal to the creativity participant' and will be developed through non-formal education methodologies and volunteer practice.
