Objectives

Looking at the national and local panorama, 8 Portuguese young people decided to present a differentiated strategy as a project idea. "Urban'Act" aims to present as urban arts as a platform for critical and artistic editing of problems in our reality. The motto presented by those young people to our association was - "to create a safe place where we can express what we feel, what we mean, without being at the mercy of the of the cabinet bureaucracy." In this way, this challenge is presented by young people to Associação Juventude de Vila Fonche in order to jointly develop a Youth Exchange to help young people realize that their active participation, though through, for example, the a brush, the spray of a graffitti, or even the surrounding movements of the breakdance, can be mirrored anywhere in the world in any culture. Based on those ideas, we intend to carry out the Youth Exchange "Urban'Act". That Youth Exchange will seek to address the theme of "Urban Arts in rural environments", always encompassing the issue of the rights and duties of a citizen as an effective and active member of a group or society. The young people who will coordinate and facilitate the Youth Exchange "Urban'Act" have the following main objectives: - Conscientialize the meaning of living in society; - Provide a space where rights can be exploited, artistic and social expression, but also the duties associated with it; - Create a space for discussion and sharing of different experiences and ideas related to the current social reality; - Encourage young people to have a more active and effective participation in their communities; - Create a space where young people will learn new strategies, methods and activities that will awaken them to active participation; - To promote in the participants the self-knowledge, self-confidence, communication and skills of critical thinking, self-reflection, creativity, flexibility, etc .; - Provide young participants with the opportunity to participate in activities that allow them to leave their comfort zone; - To promote a space of conviviality and sharing of traditions, capable of providing an understanding of the present cultural diversity; - Create an event in the community that exploits the potential of urban art and makes it recognized and valued ("Metamorfose" event), thus demystifying some prejudices associated with this artistic aspect; - Promote moments of sharing, living and learning that enrich the work of the participating associations. However, all partners. We intend to count the participation of four groups of young people very different and with roots in different European countries (Portugal, Spain, France and Romania). Each group will have to be composed of two / three girls and three / two boys, thus maintaining gender equality. Participants will be between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five, and the leader of each group will be over eighteen. It was agreed with all partners the involvement of young people with less opportunity and / or young NEET in their group of participants, although they have the information and knowledge that, ideally, will be to balance the constitution of the group with different backgrounds to promote true inclusion . Thus, it will be possible to sensitize young people who do not have less opportunities, to a need for intervention and active participation in their community through an awareness of different issues. The Youth Exchange "Urban'Act" will focus on three types of learning, intercultural, civic and artistic, with full ENF methods and techniques. During the creation of the program it was decided, in contact with the partner associations, that we will address these three types of learning. Each national group will be responsible for facilitating an artistic workshop and later all participants will be divided into 4 multicultural groups and will put into practice the learning and skills acquired during the workshops. It is intended that the young people reflect on the problems that devastate them and see in the "Urban arts" an excellent way to share their thoughts and opinions. The final presentation "Metamorfose" will take place in the Paço de Giela and we intend to count on the Mayor of Arcos de Valdevez and other stakeholders, for example Federação Nacional de Associações Juvenis’s President, Federação Distrital de Associações Juvenis de Viana do Castelo’s President, Agência Nacional para a Gestão do Programa Erasmus+ Juventude em Ação’s Director and IPDJ from north region’s Director. This event will be open to the community serving as the main dissemination activity which will have a great impact on the project.
