Objectives

The Safe Port project addresses refugee issues and their integration as the main theme. In parallel, the project works on the importance of developing skills, development and training in integration and methodologies as a useful and indispensable tool in modern times where we are confronted with this problem. The Safe Port project has included a youth exchange, to be held in the city of Fundão, which will be attended by 30 young people between the ages of 18 and 30 from 5 countries, Portugal, Hungary, Italy, Greece and Slovenia. The event will be held between July 2 and 9, 2019 in a Pousada in the region of Fundão, based on the proximity and better conditions for participants and activities. During the activities will be used methodologies related to the integration of refugees, inclusion, equality, teamwork, active participation and exchange of ideas, elimination of communication barriers, cultural diversity, intercultural harmony, among others. Non-formal education will be an important element in personal education and development, linking the issue of integration of refugees. The impact of the project, thought to be achieved through the creation of a set of informal guidelines, to realize how we can create working methodologies for a better inclusion of refugees in the societies where they are inserted and the creation of First Aid Safe Port, prepared during the exchange with the help of all the participants who, divided by multicultural groups, will develop, through different tools (video, collages, brochure, interviews, powtoon, ...), an informative guide to be disseminated at the end of the project. The main objective of the project is for youth technicians and young refugees to develop a youth exchange guide for the dissemination of good practices and methodologies for the integration of refugees. This final product aims to contribute to the search for solutions on the concept of refugee, both in the medium and long term and will be distributed in each place of origin by the participants, as a resource for the dissemination of results in particular, and the Erasmus+ program. After the work developed in the project, participants will learn to value personal skills such as research or the creation of a workplace, present a project (local-regional-national-European) or a lecture, also techniques and forms of integration, experiences and examples of non-formal learning, teamwork, from which they commit themselves to innovate, create and generate the spirit of an enterprising team. Thus, we understand that the best learning is to be open to the opinions of others, to the ideas of others, actively listening and selecting the learning so that, through reflection on the listener, participants can be part of the active European society. Throughout the project, young people and youth workers will learn about European Union programs and how they are encouraged to participate in European education and the various programs and life the Union offers its citizens, especially young people.
