The Up the Mountain project is a project that focuses on sport as a tool for transmitting values that can be transposed into the daily life of each one. The Up the Mountain project will be developed in Portugal, particularly in the City of Covilhã, and will involve 30 youth and youth technicians with ages ranging from 18 to 30 years old, from 5 countries: Bulgaria, Italy, Poland, Slovakia and Portugal between 10 and 19 July 2019. These countries are co-organizers and addressees of the activities throughout the project before, during and after the implementation of youth exchanges. In the project will be implemented working methods in all activities based on a bi-education through which knowledge, values, habits and behaviors are transmitted. During the project, participants will have the opportunity to understand the methodologies and best practices in sport in transmitting possible values to be transposed into everyday life. During these days, material will be produced with the results of the "Let's Play, Let's Think" activity, where participants, divided by multicultural groups, will develop, through different tools (video, collages, brochures, interviews, powtoon, material related to the theme to be disseminated at the end of the project. The "Let's Play, Let's Think" will be developed with the help of all the participants during six days, where, after experimenting with a modality, the participants will be invited to reflect on a certain value transmitted in the course of this modality, from the spirit of team, healthy competitiveness, etc. In addition to developing "Let's Play, Let's Think", during the youth exchange will be held complementary sessions as a way to provide young people and youth technicians with tools that will be useful for their professional and personal life. We will use various dynamics of non-formal education in these activities as well, peer activities, speed meeting, etc. Throughout the project, young people and youth workers will learn about European Union programs and how they are encouraged to participate in European education and the various programs and life the Union offers its citizens, especially young people. To conclude, there will be a ceremony for the delivery of YouthPass certificates to be held in the city councils of the city of Covilhã with the presence of Vítor Pereira, Mayor of Covilhã. In this ceremony will also be invited the institutions and partners who contributed to the success of the project, such as the Portuguese Football Federation, Portuguese Federation of Basketball, Portuguese Table Tennis Federation, Portuguese Federation of Ju Jitsu and Associated Disciplines, National Mountaineering Club, Portuguese Sports and Youth Institute and National Youth in Action Agency. At the end of the ceremony there will be a Port of Honor. At the same time, the associations will contact the local authorities in order to disseminate the results of the exchange. just as we do with the local representatives of our municipalities; with the dual objective of being effective and promoting the participation of young people and the Erasmus + program in our places.
