Scoala Gimnaziala Nicolae Iorga wanted to provide the opportunity to fulfill our mission and give all children equal opportunities for education by involving the teaching staff who work with children with special educational needs. Considering the large number of children with special educational requirements that require a multi-dimensional approach for effective integration, our school wanted to educate all the children of the community, creating conducive environments and learning situations in which all children can participate. For this purpose, the project came to meet the school's need to transform into an inclusive one, which offers quality education to all students. The project supported the achievement of the following objectives: O1: The development of innovative inclusive professional skills for working in the classroom for 5 teaching staff O2: The development of intercultural skills through the development of students' creativity in involvement in extracurricular activities for 2 teaching staff O3: Increasing community involvement in education by developing a partnership network and carrying out parenting education activities for the families of SEN children
The mission of Scoala Gimnaziala Nicolae Iorga is for each student to benefit from the chance to develop a harmonious, autonomous and creative personality, in order to prepare for a higher level of education and as a good European citizen, who can adapt to the demands of modern society. The SWOT analysis of the School's Institutional Development Plan at the time of submitting the application showed weak points in the school's curricular offer, the conservatism and resistance to change of some teaching staff in modern professional training centered on the needs of the student, a low level of information transmitted to students and learning experiences regarding training as a European citizen, few didactic support materials (teaching aids, educational software, etc.) to support the formation of key skills for students with special educational requirements, few activities that involved the participation of students with special needs in the school. The project aimed to improve these weak points, the situation of students with special needs, as well as the training of teaching staff at the European level, to learn new inclusive practices, in order to offer our students equal opportunities with those of their European peers.
