Objectives

Within the We4Education Project, we sought to increase the quality of executive management within the five high schools, so job shadowing activities were targeted for five school headmasters and a school inspector. It was also aimed to increase the competences to develop elements of student counselling and guidance through coaching activities in education for the teaching staff directly participating in the mobility – 11 teachers taking part in a course activity- but also for the teaching staff indirectly participating, through dissemination activities. The third main objective targeted the development of skills for 10 teachers participating in a professional training course on the topic of preventing bullying and violence in the school environment, and also for the staff indirectly participating through dissemination activities. Another main purpose was the development of communication skills in English for the participants in job shadowing and course mobilities.

Background

The We4Education Project was implemented in consortium by the Timis County School Inspectorate for the five rural high schools in Timis County. The main reason was to support these high schools to initiate an internationalization process in the field of school education in order to improve some needs that the schools face: bullying and violence in the school environment, scarce school counselling and guidance, management focused more on paperwork and less on innovation. It was found the five high schools hadn’t benefited from Erasmus+ projects before and that they had a lower degree of school involvement as compared to urban high schools, which is why we wanted to carry out a process in order to support them through an Erasmus+ project in consortium and, possibly, to achieve an increase in the quality of the way these high schools can initiate and manage their own Erasmus projects.
