Objectives

By implementing this project we proposed ourselves to develop the professional competences of 21 students from Math – IT specialization, offering them work experience at European standard during a transnational partnership which will fascilitate the insertion on the work place and offer greater chances and opportunities of promotion in career. The specific Objectives of the project were the following: O1. To acquire knowledge in PHP programming language in order to create dynamic competitive web sites on the European labor market for 21 students, for 2 weeks. O2. To develop language skills (to understand specialized IT language) and cultural knowledge (to integrate into the social reality of the host country) for 21 students, for 2 weeks. O3. To improve transversal competences of personal and professional development by applying effective relationship and work techniques within the team for 21 students, for 2 weeks O4. To improve the professional skills of a computer science teacher with the purpose of preparing students for web design (innovative methods, techniques and tools) by developing a CDS at European standards for 2 weeks).

Background

This project offered us the possibility to improve the Math-IT students competences regarding the domain of Web pages programming, in the context in which, the current curriculum does not insure a professional training. There were identified a multitude of negative aspects which found their remedy in this project: the lack of practice classes in the mandatory curriculum, the inaccuracies of a syllabus that was not focused on students needs, where students are not put in real situations of learning according to their specialization, as the community does not provide the possibility of practice training. Moreover, according to the European development plan, a key domain which Grigore Ghica National College proposed to improve is the development of Informatics teachers competences in order to innovate the learning-teaching process by developing optional courses centered on competences, specifically, Web design programming which will enable the creation of dynamic web pages that could qualify the students on the labor market using the language of PHP programming.
