By implementing the project,we aimed at facilitating the high school, professional and physically disabled students’ access to the national and international labour market, as well as the teachers’ continuing develoment within the VET field. Along the practical stage in Portugal and Greece, 35 students achieved learning results matching the level of the training Standards and 5 VET experts improved their innovative strategies. The project also aimed developing the linguistic, digital, social, intercultural, and civil skills, as well as promoting inclusion, diversity, equality, and non discrimination among the students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Another objective was the extension of our partnerships with various organisations in the European space. We wanted to guide and encourage our students and teachers to improve their opportunities to study abroad so as to expand their socio cultural and professional experiences. For this purpose, the students learnt innovative work methods and techniques in their field of study and they became familiar with the Portuguese education system. The teachers made portfolios with cross curricular sources:VET curriculum, didactic projects, lesson sequences with modern strategies, digital apps).
Whereby this project, we have aimed at developing the professional, linguistic, digital, social, intercultural, and civil skills within a European working environment for both our students and our teachers participating in this project. Another reason for implementing this project has to do with the students’ receiving the Europass Mobility documents and the participation Certificates, which have led to a better professional insertion within the labour market and a better integration at the job. Furthermore, through this project we have managed to integrate the students with special needs into the professional as well as the social fields. The teachers have exploited the results of the project by sharing the didactic strategies they have learnt in the Portuguese education system. In the aftermath of the project activities, we have developed new partnerships with economic agents in Greece and Portugal, such as a VET school, Escolas do Turismo de Portugal, thus enriching the European partnerships map. All these activities justify the superior value added by the Erasmus programme in our school.
