The main goal of the project was to offer Sciences students the opportunity to develop and recognize IT competences and to reach European standards by participating in a training session in the “Web Pages” field in order to ensure immediate school success (students’ motivation to get a certificate of professional IT competences), as well as career success, by a high professional and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) training of teachers in order to be able to build and program educational robots, so as to STEM-train the next generation of students that will meet the requirements of their society. The specific goals included training 15 students in the “Web Pages” field in order to build a virtual library, developing creativity, improving social abilities and foreign language skills, using Google Docs and Google Classroom. It also pursued teachers’ acquiring new knowledge in the field of robotics and sharing it to students in a robotics club that was set up in the college.
Living in an ever-changing society, which is more and more permeated by technology and robotic systems, we have applied for this project, as Ienachita Vacarescu National College has continually endeavoured to adapt professionally and socially, accomplishing its mission of developing skills and abilities, as well as a modern, open mentality which helps students become aware of the vital role that school holds in shaping and preparing them for life, discover, select and use information creatively and effectively, and be motivated in acquiring the European values. It also pursues an education which promotes high moral and spiritual values that help students become responsible members of their community, form and support a family, preserve, respect and promote their national traditions and spirituality within the European context. Ienachita Vacarescu N.
