Background

The "START FOR THE FUTURE" project is a project funded by the European Union within the Erasmus + Program, Key Action KA1-Mobility Projects, Domain - VET- Vocational and technical education. The project was addressed to a target group consisting of 38 students in initial VET training and 4 teachers from LICEUL TEHNOLOGOC AUTO Craiova. The development period was 01.09.2019-30.08.2022. LICEUL TEHNOLOGIC AUTO, CRAIOVA is a prestigious high school in Oltenia, certified since 1869, which provides specialized training in the field of automotive, mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, electronic and vocational sports. Our students come mainly from rural areas, over 60% of disadvantaged families with major financial problems, more than a tenth of children receiving various forms of social scholarships. We have in the structure36 classes: 4 general school- football, 10 vocational school and 22 high school of which: 5 evening and 17 day classes: 4 -vocational: football, 4-car transport, 5-mechanics, 4- electric, all served by 68 well-trained teachers. Within the high school, a series of activities have been and are being carried out through which we try to involve as many students as possible and to prepare them for the impact with the European labor market, taking into account the fact that over a third of the parents are gone. at work in Europe. Our students practice at factories on the industrial platform of Craiova such as Ford, car workshops, Cummins, etc. But if for the students from the vocational school the school can ensure through its own workshops a quality training, for the high school students, level 4, considering the change of the school curriculum, the school can no longer make a practical training that will facilitate the insertion of our students. on the labor market either in Romania, or with their parents in Europe. For this, our high school tries to have a well-developed plan regarding the internationalization of its activity, reason for which, the Quality Assurance team from the high school together with the European information multiplier = the person in charge of European projects and the school manager made a pertinent analysis. needs through the analysis of PEST (E), SWOT, meetings and questionnaires given to teachers, students and parents, from which emerged as threats: the decrease of the school age population due to the decrease of the birth rate, the increase of migration and mortality and the inaccessibility of our high school of students, not being a notorious high school in Craiova - school dropout due to material difficulties and declining interest in education -legislative changes regarding education, the economic sector and the labor market that can introduce distortions of the foreseen developments -insufficient allocation of financial resources necessary for initial vocational training, especially for practical training and for the evaluation and certification of learning outcomes -bureaucratic procedures for accessing European funds -differences between the competencies required by the economic operators and those generated by the school curriculum. This analysis is also included in the School Action Plan 2013-2020 together with the corresponding operational plans, and the activities provided aimed at solving the needs of the school: attracting students to our high school, achieving a professional training that generates skills recognized in the European Union , improving international cooperation through projects and partnerships and making European values, multilingualism and multiculturalism an integral part of the educational process. As an institutional development strategy in the direction of internationalizing the activity, and for solving the needs, the European Development Plan-PED for 2018-2022 was realized, which contains 8 strategic targets. Taking into account the identified needs and the 8 targets of the PED, as a way of solving it was decided to realize the Erasmus + START FOR THE FUTURE project, whose purpose is: Facilitating the insertion on the European labor market of LICEUL TEHNOLOGIC AUTO, CRAIOVA obtained through internships carried out through European mobility.
