From our international experiences we have learned that in other European contexts women in a state of vulnerability are protected by the state through the social services provided to citizens. Our project aimed to fill a social gap that currently does not protect, except in some geographical areas and for a limited time, women who are victims of violence and mistreatment, leaving the conditions of dependence unaltered (economic, psychological, family, etc.) . By perpetuating this policy, it will not be possible to break that unhealthy relationship that generates frustration, discontent and unhappiness that will inevitably be poured into relationships with their children who will learn a flawed educational model. INCLUSION THROUGH ENTREPRENEURSHIP wanted to break this pattern by providing professionalism and independence (at different levels) to those women who have difficulty entering the world of work. The project aimed to teach the necessary skills to become entrepreneurs of themselves, managing unproductive or abandoned land by generating a new social economy based on new principles of inclusion, equity, sharing and helping to break down prejudices, labels and barriers that often slow down collective growth.
Support for people in a state of vulnerability is one of the main objectives of AIM. The association was born as a result of an Erasmus + project (SOS Family Assistance - European strategies for vocational training and job mobility) which had as its theme the defense of the rights of women in a state of vulnerability in the workplace, and the creation of a portal for mediation between supply and demand for work in Italy and Spain. The design idea of our project fills the gaps found by research in the first project, and aimed to overcome the employment difficulties encountered in the research phase. From interviews carried out, and through the accumulated experience, we verified that women in a state of vulnerability had difficulty in proposing themselves on the labour market. INCLUSION THROUGH ENTREPRENEURSHIP aimed precisely at providing professional skills to women in a state of vulnerability and making them economically autonomous and able to support their family also. The project also provided the necessary training for those educators who will help our target audience to become entrepreneurs for themselves (for a re-evaluation of their skills and self-esteem).
