Objectives

Fighting Fake News aims for investigating the world of media and news, in order to stimulate the creation, development and implementation of new projects within the Erasmus+ Program through the analysis of the most appropriate actions to the different realities and situations the participants leave. Project promoters have developed a program of activities based on informal and non-formal methods, such as: energizers, discussions, presentations, simulations, role-play, brain storming, group work, exercises, case study, excursion, lecture, reflection and group building. The activities are aimed to achieve 5 main objectives set by the promoters of the project at the stage of writing it, as the fallowing: 1. Develop young volunteer’s skills to better identify fake news and spread awareness among local communities about how to deal with social media and news platforms through non-formal education activities; 2. Improve the abilities of young participants in order to enhance know how, practical experience, their communication skills and self-esteem so they can persuade the people they work with and raise awareness in their community about the fake news issues. 3. Create 5 digital magazine guidelines and 5 video materials by all participant countries, to be promoted at local and regional level in order to raise awareness among youngsters. 4. Promote the sense of civic responsibility, social inclusion and tolerance towards minorities, LGBTQ+, migrants and refugees, by presenting news on media channels that enforce the European values. 5. Enhance intercultural participation and competences of youth among local, national and European cultural heritage. These objectives align Erasmus + Youth Program, contributing to the improvement of the key competences and skills of young people, including those with fewer opportunities, by strengthening the active participation of youth through a democratic European environment. The objectives promote intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity, diversity, improving soft skills, critical thinking, confidence and the spirit of initiative for young people.
