This project is aimed at youth workers (YW) who work or want to work with young people from disadvantaged groups. Disadvantaged groups are those young people who face various obstacles: educational, social, cultural, economic, geographic, health, which are part of disadvantaged / marginalized national minorities, are immigrants and / or are NEETs. We initiate this project based on the reality present in the 9 partner countries in the project, described by the following situations: - The high number of disadvantaged young people facing social, educational, cultural, economic obstacles etc. - Difficulties and challenges faced by youth organizations (especially the partners) and youth workers in working with disadvantaged young people. The central issue we are addressing through the project is: The reduced capacity of youth workers to improve the access, participation and learning outcomes of young people from disadvantaged groups. Using the "logical tree" we have identified a number of direct causes of this problem, as follows: - Youth workers (YW) have a low degree of understanding of the specifics and characteristics of young people in disadvantaged groups. - YW have a low understanding of what social, professional and cultural access is for young people in disadvantaged groups - YW have a reduced professional capacity (limited professional competencies) to work with young people from disadvantaged groups. - The motivation of the YW to work with young people in disadvantaged groups decreases as they face specific obstacles to these target groups. Starting from this problem / needs analysis we defined: The aim of the project is to increase the capacity of youth workers to improve social and professional access, participation and learning outcomes of young people from disadvantaged groups. And the project objectives: 1. Increasing the understanding of the specifics and characteristics of young people from disadvantaged groups among 25 youth workers from 9 countries. 2. Increasing the understanding of the social, professional and cultural access of young people from disadvantaged groups to 25 youth workers from 9 countries. 3. Equipping 25 youth workers with professional skills to use effective and quality educational tools, methods and concepts, in order to work with young people from disadvantaged groups. 4. Increasing the personal and professional motivation of 25 youth workers from 9 countries to work with young people from disadvantaged groups. These objectives will be achieved throughout the project. The project is based on the eco-centric educational approach, which has the following principles and vision: - Every young person is seen as the architect of his own life and needs freedom, autonomy and resilience to face a changing world - the nature of involvement - Each young person has a natural / authentic way of being, consisting of talents, passions and values - authentic human nature - The natural environment (nature) is an inclusive framework that stimulates the equity, acceptance and development of a healthy mind - Inclusive Nature All these principles are at the foundation of the eco-centric development. Through this project, we aim to train 25 youth workers to become agents of change and professionals dedicated to the development of disadvantaged young people from their own countries.
