Objectives

“T4T” is aiming at involving a number of 31 youth workers in the TC in Bacau, Romania, as a follow up activity to the successful TC “Art of Changing” which taught youth workers Coaching and NLP techniques at the end of 2018. The consortium of partners expanded its members due to the promotion made by participants and organisations through the high impact of the NFE methods shared. The aim is to develop the youth workers’ methods and tools to access the fewer opportunities and marginalized youth in the communities of the partners organisations, as well as from the rural areas by equipping them with NFE training and facilitation skills. Our consortium partners are pro-actively involved in working with disadvantaged, unemployed, fewer opportunities youth and refugees using NFE tools for organising local and international activities to support inclusion of those target groups. Considering the need for constant development of the methods, adapting those to the current needs of youth, communities, countries and the whole of Europe, youth workers would benefit hugely of improving their manner of presenting, organising activities, interacting and engaging the youth groups during trainings, seminars, workshops, events. In this way, by empowering the “how”, behind the huge range of activities that can be delivered, through this TC we support youth workers in developing competences that facilitate reaching out towards a diverse range of youth target groups NEETs, fewer opportunities, marginalised, refugees for responding to their needs. Boosting their above skills, youth workers will be relating better, transferring messages better, designing creative activities, organising the environment, empathising and facilitating accelerated learning processes with the main outcome to involve NEET youth in the process. As the problem has been within the EU for past decade, and it is still present in the participating countries “The share of young people (aged 18–24) in the EU-28 who were neither in employment nor in education or training (NEET), expressed in relation to the population of the same age, stood at 15.2 % in 2016.” (http://bit.ly/2j1n8xT). Without opportunities to practise and apply new knowledge in a variety of contexts, adaptation and integration of new knowledge will not be achieved. In other words, unless learning environments offer opportunities to communicate new knowledge and solve complex problems through collaboration, it will stifle creativity” (UNESCO, “THE FUTURES OF LEARNING 3” https://bit.ly/2pQuFke).Part of the institutions failing to keep youth engaged are exactly their representatives (educators, trainers, youth workers) who are using outdated knowledge, conservative approaches that are not impactful in the education act. Through the collected needs assessment undertaken online among our partners, their youth workers expressed their need for diversifying their methods and improve their approaches planning and implementing youth exchanges, workshops, seminars for the local target groups of fewer opportunities and NEET youth. Goal: developing facilitation methods for 31 youth workers from 9 countries in one TC in Bacau, Romania between 10-20.10.2019, with the purpose of exploring and applying methods, and growing personal skill for engaging fewer opportunities and marginalised youth groups and facilitating access to an interactive learning processes. 1. Practising training and presentation competencies for facilitating transfer of EU common values through NFE activities to fewer opportunities youth. (at least 2 activities implemented by the participants in their local communities) 2. Developing public speaking skills for presenting to groups and audiences, engaging and managing group dynamics. (Gaining better rapport with the target groups) 3. Planning and designing NFE activities for inclusion groups: matching of target group, needs, objectives, methodology, how to ensure impact & relevance. (Youth workers to measure those through the feedback forms after each of their activities) 4. Improving personal, professional and organizational development through self-assessment and creating action plans. 5. Increasing the ability to manage and handle groups in training activities and related contexts by developing platform skills and state management in front of the participants. (Measured individually by each participant depending on the feedback from the group and colleagues) At the end of the Training course besides the manual from the trainer, participants create/adapt their own NFE methods for working with the youth target groups, test those and add in the eBook “Youth Trainer's Skills” that will be shared with the stakeholders. In addition to this participants will start planning follow-up activities under Erasmus+ programme, dedicated to the youth target groups in order to strengthen the cooperation between the partner organisation at international and local levels.
