Objectives

"Be safe online!" It is a youth exchange run by the "I.R.I.S." from Oltenita, Romania, in the capacity of a coordinating organization in partnership with the Romanian-AlmaRumana Soul Association of Valencia, Spain, the " Get involved" Association in Sofia, Bulgaria and the Skopje Association for Youth Empowerment in Macedonia. The project is the only main activity that will unfold between August 29, 2019 and September 5, 2019 in the commune of Bran, Brasov County. By implementing the project “Be safe online!”, the four project partners wish to make the 36 participants aware of the importance of online safety and offer them the information and instruments needed in order to safely navigate the internet. The project also wishes to involve them in a campaign involving danger awarness in online environment which will take place in each of the four communities, campaign which they will initiate after having taken part in this project. The youngsters will develop a series of abillities which will be useful for their personal and professional development and also help them find a job more easily. Thus, when creating multimedia materials they will enhance their abilities in working on the computer and with a series of programmes, such as : Prezi, Movie Maker, Power Point. Using English throughout the entire project they will put to a better use the knowledge acquired at school and converse more and hopefully better in this language. Working in teams throughout most of the activities, they will learn to communicate and cooperate much better when they’ll have to do something as a team. They will develop their civic spirit when they have to initiate a campagne concerning online safety awarness. Being in the situation where they have to sketch ideas for future projects and to create multimedia projects, they will become more creative and more involved. Learning alongside young people from other countries they will descover even more other cultures from the European area. The project “Be safe online!” will offer youngsters with reduced possibilities who are on the verge of being marginalized due to the economical problems, low grades, lack of a professional training which could help them find a job, the necessary motivation to get more involved in their own development, will offer them the chance to descover the traps which might be lurking in the online environment. They will become more confident in their own powers, they will bond and they will exchange experience with youngsters from other countries and will also wish to involve and continue to benefit on the informal education offered by the four youngsters organisations. The four leaders will enhance their methods of working with young people, will gain experience and will continue to contribue to the implementation of new projects. The management team of this project made of coordinators, leaders and three youngsters from each organisation will acquire the experience, implementation, assesment and dissemination of the results of a project. This experience will be valorized in the future projects which will take place. The four ONGs will enhance the visibility both at a local and also at a international level, will attract an increasing number of young people to involve in the informal education, and also public and private figures that will support the projects concerning youngsters.
