Objectives

This project was implemented because Europe is facing environmental challenges like never before. The project aimed to change the mindset of young people, from consumption to up-cycling and use of the digital space. More precisely, the project was initially planned to be implemented in an Eco Village Firiteaz community village, which is situated in Firiteaz village. Still, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, it proved necessary to postpone the project start dates and change the location of the exchange. Despite these changes, the main objective of implementing the project in a village ( Brebu - Romania, in Caras- Severin county/ “La Padure Hotel”) was kept the same. Usually, in villages, young people traditionally create different objects from waste. However, the situation has changed over the years as the waste is no longer used. On the contrary, people from rural communities, no longer know how to value recycled objects. This partnership was formed, as all partners were interested in a sustainable society, had experience with youth work, and had shown interest in dealing with environmental sustainability. The goals we wanted to achieve were as follows (The project was initially written, with the intention of having 6 countries as partners, but during the project implementation process, our partner from Cyprus, dropped out of the project.) - To develop skills in the up-cycling process for 45 young people, from five different European countries, for 9 days. - Create a network of 45 young sustainable lifestyle advocates, from the five different European countries, for two months. - Raise awareness about the importance of up-cycling five different European communities from Estonia, Italy, Lithuania, Spain, and Romania for two months. - Develop skills in using the online environment in sales among 45 young people from five different European countries. These objectives were reached during the implementation of the youth exchange together with the preparation and follow-up phase.
