Background

Teenagers and young people are the most exposed to the consumption of dangerous substances because adolescence is the age when the personality is formed and shaped, they build their self-identity, they establish clear principles of life, they look for role models adapting their behaviour to them. There are also tendencies to exert pressure on the adaptation of behaviour to the existing models within a group or the entourage in the case of adolescents, who are sometimes forced to take over from the tendencies or manifestations of others, being sometimes witnesses of situations with negative effects on their lives .The consumption of harmful and toxic substances among teenagers has become an increasingly visible problem of our society, affecting students, teachers, parents, friends, doctors, psychologists. We are witnessing family dramas that we, the teachers, school counselors and students, do not know how to deal with and we do not know how to be efficient in this endeavor. The „You are my challenge” project included a series of activities different from those in formal education and was addressed to those students interested in or affected by the problem of the consumption of dangerous substances.
