Objectives

As the most important element for life on Earth, water must be accessible to all living beings. We are facing enormous difficulties which are influenced by climate changes, humans' exploitation of natural resources, industrialization, wars and other political conflicts... Water scarcity in one part the planet, then fires, floods on the other, and another phenomenon all around the world, remind us that we need to cooperate and act together in order to preserve natural resources on Earth. Connected by oceans, seas, and rivers, we have to change our mindsets and face the fact that troubles abroad are also our concerns. Youth exchange "Save Our Waters" strive to give a small contribution in combating the degradation of water resources. Gathering 36 young people from 6 countries, this 10-days program aims to improve their knowledge about the importance of water protection, careful consumption and main causes for water shortages around the world. It will challenge youth to change bad habits and strengthen them to advocate water conservation and adequate water management in their local communities. Objectives of Youth exchange are to: 1. improve participant’s knowledge about impacts of humans' everyday activities on water shortages and to motivate them to change their daily habits. 2. support involvement of youth in preserving water reserves and making water reachable by future generations 3. improve the level of key competences and skills of participants for critical thinking and active participation in society, with special focus on advocating preserving water quality and quantity by it's rational usage 4. raise participants' awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries, offering them the opportunity to build networks of international contacts, pointing out that borders maybe separate countries, but rivers connect them. In order to save rivers, it's crucial to have international cooperation among all countries, and not only neighboring. 5. enhance notably the participants' foreign languages and public speaking competences by playing ice breaking activities, participating in diverse teams and by motivating them to be actively involved in activities during the whole program 6. motivate youth to take active role in they local communities and inform peers about opportunities that Erasmus + Programme offer 7. strengthen participant’s knowledge of Erasmus + Programme, especially Key Action 1, with focus on youth exchanges and to provide participants an opportunity to brainstorm and work on development of new project ideas.
