Objectives

The idea of the project came from the context of the raise of radicalization leading to violence and extreme ideologies among youth and their consequences on personal and professional development of youth, especially in terms of EU values. Forum theatre and Marshal Rosenberg’s methodologies, together with youth work methods, showed exquisite results in preventing extremism and radicalization among youth. Aim of the project is to raise awareness of 26 youth workers and youth leaders from 11 countries for creating and delivering local Forum Theatre methodology for and with young people in order to raise assertive communication and empower them to prevent extremism, radicalization leading to violence and its negative effects on young people. The activities which will be implemented are: preparation meeting, TC (F)ACT- Advanced training for youth workers in using Marshal Rosenberg method of non-violent communication and Forum Theatre for preventing radicalization leading to violence among youth, dissemination activities (workshops in local communities) and Sending final evaluations about the project to partners and reports to EACEA- NA. Participants will be able to use the Forum theatre and NVC related skills and knowledge they acquire to create more Forum theatre performances and other educational activities and promote any topic they might be interested in with the adequate peace-building language communication. The impact is on personal and social level, where change could be more visible for protecting young people and strengthening for critical thinking and sharing best possible practice. Participants could also make possible future advanced Forum theatre productions together and use Erasmus+ for future projects. Objectives of the project: • Encourage an open atmosphere and building of team spirit among the participants from diverse backgrounds and with diverse identities. • Increase participants’ knowledge about prevention of youth radicalization leading to violence, extremism and policy documents from international level (EU, CoE, UN, OSCE). • Enhance participants’ intercultural and communication skills. • Raise awareness for difference about radicalization, radicalization leading to violence and extreme ideologies and movements. • To learn advanced skills in applying non-violent communication in the context of addressing the problem about radicalization leading to violence and to raise skills for peaceful debate and approaches in youth work practice. • Exchange experiences related to projects dealing with Forum Theater and human rights for dealing with extremism and youth. •Develop critical thinking for questioning personal values and beliefs. • Present and practice a variety of non-formal learning techniques useful for working with young people and vulnerable groups in preventing radicalization leading to violence. • Empower and motivate participants to use Forum theatre methods in youth work. • Inform participants about the EU Programme Erasmus+ and its opportunities with promotion of EU values and values of youth work. • Foster mutual support and cooperation among the international participants and encourage the formation of long-term friendship and cooperation. With this project we are offering, also, the alternative or asset-based approach, where young people offer solutions in their personal and social development and they are partners in problem-solving situations in the community. The Youth Forum highlights "that youth organizations offer a safe space for the personal development of young people and that formal and non-formal education are key to providing citizenship education and support intercultural learning" as EU priority.
