Objectives

Based on the survey, we identified the following common development needs: 1. Increased digitalization. There is a lot going on in digitalization, which affects the vast majority of professional areas and individuals. In The track of digitalisation is changing many societal functions, not least in health care. 2. Increased employability of the participant 2.1 Empower the student. In a boom like this, extra good support is required for those individuals who have not yet found a job and who study. Our students have varied needs in the form of language difficulties, motivational difficulties, but also other needs that require extra support in teaching. 2.2 Quality in APL and LIA. Many in the consortium have a need for a better coordinated practice with set routines / systems for better preparation, guidance and follow-up. 3. Strengthen the attractiveness of vocational education and training. It is a dilemma that individuals reject the educations in which there are future jobs. It may be due on low status, low pay and bad reputation. 4. SFI and a path to work. Almost all participants in the consortium have stated that they have employees who work with SFI linked to vocational education. 5. Develop as an hosting organization.

Background

Westum has worked with international mobilities since 2013. Even then, we applied as a consortium, but it wasn't called that then. Of Westum's 43 member municipalities, there have been about 10-14 municipalities that have been involved in mobility projects. Before Westum chose to apply for this project, which started in 2019, a questionnaire was sent out that each participating municipality, which was interested in being part of a consortium, had to answer. The respondents to the survey were Erasmus+ contact persons in cooperation with management. After this, some were even followed up by phone. Based on this, we have identified common development needs that we wanted to collaborate on. Based on these answers, Westums compiled an application. Westum's middle schools see a great benefit in working internationally together. It is about also making exchanges regionally, between the municipalities, and that you have the opportunity to take part in each other's international partners and go together with colleagues within the region who you might not otherwise havent met. Through its almost 10 years of international exchange, Westum has built up both a broad international network of contacts and good working methods.
