Objectives

It is important to invest in our students' education and work-life experience, not only locally and regionally, but nationally and internationally. This international experience makes their transition into the labor market more seamless and boosts their attractiveness with potential employers. Our trade and industry association’s view students coming to them during and after completed studies with international experience in a positive light. We can also see that students partaking grow, both as individuals and professionals, and gain a better understanding and appreciation of other cultures and work procedures.

Background

Jämtlands Gymnasieförbund has been involved in international activities for nearly two decades, and have without pause, participated in EU financed projects spanning from the days of Leonardo DaVinci and Lifelong Learning to the present day. The project Working in Europe is a continuation and evolution of earlier successful projects within Erasmus+ KA1, furthering our ambition to work strategically long term with internationalization and the growth and development of our students, teachers, school and region. The Erasmus+ project's framework provides us with fantastic opportunities to have our students partake in vocational learning abroad in a way that would not otherwise be possible. It is of paramount importance to us to continue to build upon these projects, as the need for internationalization, both in society and school, is becoming more important, and the foundation laid throughout the years have taken root and spread in our organization and with students of all age groups.
