Objectives

We strive for international elements to be a natural part of the activities for students and staff, both in vocational courses and other courses. Continuous participation in existing and future EU projects promotes our opportunities to achieve these goals and give more students the opportunity to study abroad. Being able to invite one / some of our partners to teach at our schools in Sweden is an important part of our internationalization work. Through this project, more of our students were able to assimilate our funds from the EU and already at home gain a greater insight into how the horse industry works in Europe. We currently have a total of 340 students at our four schools. Our vision is to be the obvious choice for young people interested in horses who will be employable and well prepared for Swedish and international working life.

Background

From the summer of 2022, Sveriges Ridgymnasium will offer collaborative stables in the Netherlands and Spain for the school's students to do parts of their APL abroad. The EU project is of considerable importance to students by giving them the opportunity to practice at equestrian facilities that are not available in Sweden. The horse industry in southern Europe is primarily aimed at professional riders and is run more business-like, which gives our students a broader picture of horse keeping. Here, both professional dressage and jumping stables are offered, as well as stud farms where horses are bred. The stable is a hub for international competition riders from all over the world who have their base for training and competition in these countries. Our students get a good insight into horse care, planning and training arrangements on an international level. Swedish young people are much appreciated abroad and the opportunity to go abroad APL gives them a larger network and network of contacts. Several of our young people have been offered work abroad after graduation.. By applying for this project, both students and staff were able to take part in one of our internationalization goals already at home.
