The project “ECOoperation” will take place in Sweden and seeks to contribute to raising awareness about sustainable development by promoting national and international cooperation among young people from EU. The project is based on the 1972 Stockholm Declaration on the UN Conference on the Human Environment that is the starting point of a rights-based approach to environmental protection, which said that "Man have the fundamental right to freedom, equality and adequate conditions of life, in an environment of a quality that permits a life of dignity and well-being, and he bears a solemn responsibility to protect and improve the environment for present and future generations". Today, climatic change and so, environmental protection are still one of the most urgent topics of this century, if not the most important one. The consequences of the degradation of our planet generates already many social, economical and ecological issues, which are interrelated and affect directly and indirectly most of the countries of the world and increases inequalities. Fighting climate change requires a global cooperation of all inhabitants of the earth to think about their life in a more sustainable way. COOPERATION is the key word, i.e the action or process of working together to the same end. To cooperate is not as easy as it seems, trust, compromise, and communicate are some of the main skills needed to cooperate effectively. To listen, understand and be emphatic are other qualities that facilitate the cooperation for a productively work toward the common goal. Those skills are long life useful that can be transpose in different field, especially in the labor market. The values of sustainable development are needed, and it is urgent that they be accepted and respected by all. The key lies in education, information and awareness tools, exactly what we want with this project. This Young Exchange will focus on the topic of cooperation as the basement of the sustainable development, through the following objectives: - To raise awareness of participants about sustainable development and cooperation, share and compare the realities among participating countries - To inspire them to discover new work fields and to foster callings - To develop their sens of initiative and enable them to be active citizens in their community in the field of sustainable development cooperation - To promote intercultural dialogue and to motivate them for active participation and self-expression. - To develop their critical thinking about their way of life as young adult. - To equip them with competences and methods for their professional development through the promotion of the common fundamental values of our society.
