As part of the project, we wanted to: - get acquainted or deepen the understanding of didactic approaches and the use of tools that support active forms of learning and verify their usage in practice, - to gain experience of various didactic approaches and tools to support active learning in an international environment with diverse cultural norms, - investigate the role of the student and the teacher in the learning process according to the didactic approach used, - critically evaluate European educational models, didactic approaches and tools to support active learning; - develop a vision and basis for introducing teaching models with the student at the core of learning and the teacher in the role of moderator; - to move from developed multicultural to intercultural competences.
The project is a step towards the vision of integrated quality development of Dobje Primary School and Kindergarten, a model of education and professional support for employees. It is the way to provide a team of teachers who will be having an innovative approach towards quality development of education as well as well-developed intercultural and linguistic competences. We are aware, only innovative individuals, who introduce approaches that enable students to play an active role are not enough. Everyone must be involved in the quality development of an institution that strives for the quality and attractiveness of the educational process. 18 employees had been directly involved in life-long learning. By that the European strategic framework for cooperation in education and training was followed. Teachers had optimally strengthened and developed professional competences, which are absolutely necessary to contribute innovatively as individuals to establish a high-quality vertical. With the personal experience of working in a new cultural environment and the use of a foreign language for cooperation, the development of establishing a positive intercultural dialogue in the, so far homogeneous environment of the institution, began.
