Our long-term goal is to create a school environment characterised by creativity and ambition in teaching and learning, empathy and sensitivity in relationship building and communication, the ability to detect individual talents and create the right conditions for their development. The objectives of our project were: to upgrade competences in education for the prevention and reduction of behavioural disorders in pupils, to acquire new skills in modern school management as well as in class management, to deepen and upgrade skills in the field of cross-curricular integration, to deepen and upgrade skills in the field of children with special needs, to develop competences in project management of international projects and networking, to develop intercultural competences developing communication in foreign languages, developing competences in the use of ICT for learning and teaching, developing social and civic competences, and developing teaching methods and approaches that will enable students to develop holistically.
Changes in society and labour market, the fast pace of life and modern technology are influencing the development of young people which is also reflected in the school environment. Nowdays students are digitally empowered, knowledgeable, equipped with a wealth of information, but also lack of basic life skills, sense for a community, basic communication, work focus, self-control and use of digital technology. All these changes mean that the professional development of our staff, the activities to achieve the desired competences and the ways to keep them highly motivated need to be carefully planned, which is why there is a great need for intensive staff training at our school. Teachers must respond to the needs of their pupils and develop competences in their professional field and in teaching, in education, in managing a class and in the efficient use of modern technology. Educating teachers in an international and intercultural context, as well as networking, cooperating with teachers from other European countries, helps to maintain teachers' motivation, their professional and personal development, and as a result a better environment for pupils' development and a better school.
