With the implementation of the project, we wanted to achieve that students with learning mobility gain work experience abroad, improve their skills and knowledge in the field of eye optics and glassmaking, gain knowledge of the latest technology in both areas and improve expertise in manufacturing optical devices and glass products. Expected goals were: to get acquainted with processes of making optical glasses, materials of various types in the field of eye optics and glass, and to test themselves in producing optical aids and glass products. Other important goals were: to transfer new knowledge into their environment, to improve their ability to communicate in a foreign language through practice, and to become aware of the importance of European citizenship. The interest in glass professions in the world is decreasing, so we wanted to bring students closer to the importance of work in the glass field and show them its importance in Slovenia and also elsewhere in the world. Long-term goals were: greater motivation of students for vocational training and further work, quality knowledge as a basis for further study, greater opportunities for communication, awareness of interculturality, and greater employability.
We applied for the project because we want to provide the students Rogaška Slatina School Center with the highest quality education and experience in their fields, including mobility abroad. In addition to the grammar school program, we educate students for the professions of technician optician, glass technician and apprentice glass maker, which are the only such programs in Slovenia, so it is even more important to educate good, promising and quality staff. Future technician opticians, glass technicians and glass makers must know the latest procedures in practice and technology and must be aware of advances in eye optics and glassmaking, which can be provided only by quality practical training with recognized employers abroad. The strategic direction of ŠCRS is constant internationalization, systematic development of the profession with the help of good practice from abroad, expanding cooperation with partners abroad, connecting theory and practice. In addition, the mobility project upgrades other skills, such as the integration of practical and social skills, learning about and supporting common European orientations in the field of work and education, awareness of one's own national identity and connecting with other nations.
