Objectives

By doing this project we wished to target four goals: 1) improving key skills of the students (social skills, such as effective communication in a foreign language, adaptability within a new cultural and working environment, teamwork, self-initiative, digital literacy, new knowledge regarding culture and customs). Work experience abroad is the next step towards the students’ independence. The students require encouragement to become creative and innovative, to learn on their own, reach decisions, develop curiosity and independence, and become ready for life; 2) developing work skills (getting to know new trends in the business field and the characteristics of global marketing, becoming acquainted with commercial business documents and other activities in the international market). This way our students master communication skills and business etiquette, plan their own budget and meticulously handle money; 3) improving language skills, which enables easier participation in international business fairs and enhances their job prospects abroad); 4) staff qualification (obtaining professional skills and improving language and organizational skills).

Background

Our school encourages continuing development and fulfillment of our students in the field of business education as well as it encourages personal growth for its students and staff. The need to become more informed and effective are continuously growing within society, education and economy; international cooperation of our school additionally meets the needs mentioned. We have recognized the many positive effects the Mobility project has on students and accompanying teachers. Examples of good practice can later be used in teaching and to improve the processes and methods from the perspective of newfound experiences the students gain while working abroad. Students looking for employment outside Zasavje will have an easier time looking for employment outside the country. Apprenticeships abroad represent added value to every profession, especially to our business program, which enables graduates to get a job in a variety of work placements within and outside the economy. After graduating and completing the Mobility project, our students’ chances to obtain a business scholarship will improve as will their employment possibilities home and abroad.
