Objectives

With this project we wanted to enable our students to experience job placements in a foriegn country and teachers to upgrade their professional knowledge. All got new experiences and developed professional, language and other competencies in an international environment. By participating in the project, we wanted to enable our students who are primarily from rural backgrounds to see life in an urban surrounding and gain ideas they can later use to advance our own region.Local environment needs youth that takes its own initiative and has enough confidence to see opportunities and make use of them locally instead of seeing their future abroad. At the same time teachers after mobilities use their lahguage skills better and are able to convey their experiences better. By participating in the project we make the quality of education higher and empower teacher in their professional and linguistic fields. Local people also see the school and education it offers in a different light due to participation in the mobilities. The gained competencies in using modern technologies, approaches and methods can add to the employability and success of both teachers and students.

Background

Our school is a small school with many programs because of its special role in educating bilingual students of a national minority. As it is a bilingual school, the classes are all carried out in Slovenian and Hungarian. One of the main goals of the school is also to upgrade bilinguality into multilinguality and open up the school to students across borders. We have been participating in many national and international projects and want to expand on these opportunities. We have been trying to upgrade learning experiences for our students and coworkers as well as our multilinguial model. At the same time we are acknowledging the needs of our environment for workers with a wider scope of skills and experiences already at the start of their career. The wast experiences of teachers gained in mobility projects and partnerships also point to the need to keep up with mobilities and expand on them. We see Erasmus+ projects as a necessity and opportunity at the same time, bringing necessary experiences of a foreign country, urban environments and work procedures the students could not gain in the local environment. As an added asset we see the opportunity to use the gained foreign language knowledge in life and professional situations.
