Within the framework of the project, we at GRM Novo mesto wanted to bring the values of the EU closer to our students and bring their professional field closer to them beyond our borders. Within the framework of the project, we wanted to strengthen cooperation between the partners in the project and establish new contacts. We also wanted to increase the interest among students in practical training abroad. We wanted students, in addition to the knowledge they get from partner organizations, to communicate in a foreign language in working environments and thus consolidate the language of the profession. With the project, we wanted the students to get to know the individual EU Member States, their activities, and life in them. We wanted the students to be more curious, open to new experiences, and able to adapt to the values of others. As part of the project, students face various challenges that they need to solve and perform well within the framework of team cooperation. Students are also involved in the organisation of mobility and planning of activities. With the project, we wanted to raise the visibility of students on the labour market and enable them to be more employable. When applying for mobility, students were asked to describe why they were applying and what their previous experience was in each area. With this, students learned about themselves, their traits, interests and goals in life.
Within GRM Novo mesto – the Centre of biotechnics and tourism, two secondary schools are active, Agricultural school GRM and Biotechnical gymnasium on one hand, and Secondary school for catering and tourism on the other. In this way, we carry out educational programs in the field of agriculture, horticulture, nature conservation, food processing, catering and tourism. All educational programs are renovated and are modularly structured, allowing for greater selectivity. At GRM Novo mesto, 670 students are involved in secondary education and they are taught by 80 professionals. Part of the educational programs is also practical training with work done by the students at the employer. We give great importance to practical education at the Centre, as students learn in this way about their future work environment. Within the framework of the project, we wanted to give students the opportunity to complete part of practical training abroad, where, in addition to basic professional competencies, they also acquire knowledge in the field of communication in a foreign language, especially the language of the profession. They acquire additional knowledge in the field of work organisation, digital literacy, cultural awareness, expression, and the values of the European Union. The project is also an opportunity to maintain and establish contacts between schools and various social partners.
