With the funds recieved, we wanted to enable 5 of our employees to participate in various study visits abroad and with that grant them the access to key strategic and professional knowledge for the development of new preventive and therapeutic programs. We wanted to research how equine assisted interventions are used abroad to prevent and reduce stress in various life situations (at the workplace, in the family, in personal conflicts), to gain insights into the structure, content and methodology of those sorts of programs and then transfer new knowledge and experiences to Slovenia through the development of an innovative program for more effective coping with stress for adult clients.
Our organizational mission is to offer support, counseling and therapy to the people with special needs and various mental health problems. We therefor put a lot of emphasis on people's needs and the current life's challenges they are experiencing. Due to that, we always aim to ask them about their experiences and include their insight into our consideration when developing new programs. What we have been for a while now is that the modern lifestyle, despite the explosion of opportunities offered by technological progress, often brings more wounds than joys of celebrating achievements. Stress, or too much of it together with the lack of competence in dealing with stress are the worst enemies and obstacles to a healthy lifestyle in adulthood. We have used this as our guideline when choosing the topic of this project.
