By implementing the project, we have followed the strategic goals of the School Centre Nova Gorica (SCNG), i. e. providing a quality development of the centre, increasing the attraction and the competitiveness of the SCNG as a reliable partner in the field of VET at home and abroad, providing competitiveness of learners and staff in the labour market in Slovenia and abroad, as well as an intensive internationalization on the level of learners, teachers and the school on a local, regional and national level. During their stay abroad, students gained expertise and competencies, but they also acquired the experience of working in a foreign market. They socialized with their peers, they experienced living in bigger cities, as well as the cultural and historical features of new places and countries. They also expanded general knowledge, became more self-confident, independent and responsible in various life situations. During the mobility, the communication took place in a foreign language, the main language of communication was English. These were all the aims of the project, in addition to the basic one, i.e. gaining new practical experience, as well as professional competencies to become more competitive in the fast-changing labour market. One of the specific aims of the project was, in the framework of international mobilities, to deepen long-term partnerships with partner organizations and to find new ones which would provide quality VET for learners and staff. By implementing the project, we wanted to increase the interest for learners and staff mobilities. In addition to the above mentioned, we worked on the quality to provide mobilities which would inform staff with new methods of work that would be included in the teaching situations afterwards. Consequently, this enabled the development of professional areas for which we educate at the School Centre Nova Gorica.
The main aim of the project VOICE (VOcational Competences in Europe) was to give learners and staff the opportunity to live an international experience at school or/and in a work organization to acquire the skills which are not possible to learn in the organizations of the home country. For this reason, a project team was created, the members of which were the representatives of the international mobility in each school of the School Centre Nova Gorica, together with the international coordinator at the Intercompany Training Centre. The project team was responsible for the quality, financial and logistics monitoring, as well as the implementation of the project.
