The most important goals were the following: - a strategy for improving the competences and knowledge of staff (even those who were not involved in the project, with the help of good dissemination) - by tracking at the workplace, we wanted to achieve the transfer of methods and forms of work from other schools/organizations to our workplace - connecting with foreign partners and acquiring new partners - establishing quality partnerships in the field of vocational education - facilitating practical training for students with special needs in an environment suitable for them Our goal was to prepare practical education for students in a more protected environment (partner organization), which will also be recognized in our organization. We wanted the students to gain: self-confidence, language skills and essential professional competences. We monitored these competencies with the help of ECVET documents.

Background

The Special VET 2019 project is the third professional project of the Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Ljubljana, which we registered after receiving the Quality Charter. Based on good experience with international projects from the past and due to the great interest of colleagues and management, we wanted to continue the planned path of international cooperation and training. International projects represent great added value for employees, students and the entire Institute. In the project, we wanted to implement short-term mobility in vocational education for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, students with speech-language disorders and autism. Another equal focus is on job shadowing of our staff abroad where they gain many new insights, methods, good practices from other schools which also deal with students with special needs.
